Life can be a joyful and wonderful thing. It can also sometimes seem full of problems, worries, and dead-end situations. For those struggling with depression, anxiety or a life event that has turned their world upside-down, counseling can be a place to come regroup, explore what's going on, learn new skills and move forward with your life.
During our individual counseling sessions, I listen to what you have to say without judgment. I help you identify what you want and how to get it. I provide a sympathetic ear and focus on your strengths to help you build and increase them. If you are looking for a therapist who will tell you what is wrong with you, identify your "issues" and then try to fix you, I am not that person. I don't think it's helpful or productive to focus on that stuff too much. It just leaves you feeling, bad, broken and helpless.
I believe in taking a strength-based approach to counseling. Together, we can work on finding the courage to address your situation and initiate the positive changes you want in your life. You can trust in my integrity, candor, support, education and many years of experience. You can also count on me being real with you and providing a safe space where you can be real and be seen.
